I've forgotten my password, what do I do?
To have your password reset please email a request to resetmypassword@opimage.co.uk, including your account username in the email. You will be issued a new password to log in with, which you can then change through the 'user details' page.
Why can't my password be emailed to me?
As a security measure all passwords are stored using one-way encryption methods. This means passwords can not be re-issued.
What do the letters that appear alongside the image information in the album view mean?
Each of the letters indicates what information is being shown on that row for the image above it.
| Code: | u: URL - The simple link for this image.
i: IMG - The BBCode compatible image tags (suitable for use on most forums).
h: HTML - The HTML code for the image, including the relevant alt text.
t: Thumbnail - The BBCode compatible image tags, including the thumbnail (suitable for use on most forums).
a: Alt - The alt text for this image.
k: Keywords - The descriptive text/keywords defined for this image. |
How do I use the random.jpg feature?
See the guide to the random.jpg feature.
Sometimes my animated GIFs stop when I'm browsing my albums, why is that?
This is a quirk in some browsers, namely IE, that causes animated GIFs to stop animating when Javascript is used. This doesn't affect the actual image on the server, merely the animation appearing on your machine.
Why do modified GIFs become PNG files?
In order to properly support transparency modified GIF files are saved as 8-bit PNG files, providing transparency support.
How do I remove borders from images?
See the question below 'How do I change my album/folder options?'.
How do I change my album/folder options?
To give you the most control over your folders each one has it's own set of options, accessible from the 'options' link beside the folder name on the 'currently viewing' line. These options allow you to customise how you use and view the folder: i.e. thumbnail size, show borders on images, enabled/disable the random.jpg feature, and more.
What is this auto-avatar feature?
Auto-avatar is a simple tool that allows you to create avatars from any image uploaded to your account based on a template you supply (and can change). Simply upload a GIF template to your account using the 'user details' page, then select the album, and the images from that album, you want to turn into avatars and run the auto-avatar feature. After setting a few options you'll be provided with a set of avatars created to your specification, no fuss.
How can I upload images via email?
Simple. Attach the desired images to an email and send it to upload@opimage.co.uk, making sure you send from your account email (this is used to verify it's your account). All attached images will be uploaded to your account. You can even specify which folder you want the images to be placed in. To do so set the subject line to the 'Folder Email Identifier' (these can be set via the folder options pages) and the images will be uploaded to the relevant folder. In all other situations they are placed in your root folder.
Note: Some images may be renamed if an applicable filename can not be obtained (this may be down to simpler email clients, like those found on phones).
